NELAC Quality Manual Template

Catalyst Information Resources has developed a template for laboratories to use for developing their own NELAC Quality Manual.  This manual is  required to become accredited to the NELAC standards.

The template Quality Manual is organized according to EPA guidance on quality plans, and contains all of the 22 required elements in Section 5.5.2 of the NELAC standards.  After each section, a checklist is provided to assist laboratories in reviewing their quality system against the NELAC standards.  Explanatory information is included to further assist laboratories in developing their manual. The template Quality Manual also contains several appendices, including information on how to develop standard operating procedures and a list of suggested technical SOPs.

The template Quality Manual has been reviewed by a number of individuals active in the NELAC process, including several state officials.
